General Information:

The vehicle must be used in rendition of public mass transportation and at least 75% of the annual mileage must be within the municipal corporation(s); or the vehicle is operated solely for the purpose of transporting persons associated with a nonprofit or charitable organization.

Registrant Eligibility:

May be issued to any nonprofit organization that provides public mass transportation. Nonprofit organizations must submit Articles of Incorporation or a Statement of Good Standing, not over five years old and obtained from the Ohio Secretary of State.  Public Mass Transportation must submit P.U.C.O. certificate and route schedule.

Title Requirements:

Ohio Certificate of Title issued in the name of the charity or nonprofit, either singly, jointly or the name is the same name on the lease agreement.

Vehicle Information:

Vehicle must have a seating capacity of more than seven persons and body type must describe the vehicle as a bus, minibus or station wagon.

Type of Plates:

System assigned plates only.

Issuance Information:

Plates are issued at deputy registrar license agencies and the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Columbus.

Cost:

There are no additional fees. The fee is determined by Ohio Revised Code section 4503.04.
