General Information: |
Any honorably discharged veteran
and/or active duty service member of the Armed Forces of the United States
who served in Saudi Arabia or Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm or
Operation Desert Shield during the dates set by Congress may apply for
combat plates. |

Registrant Eligibility:
|
A honorably discharged veteran
and/or active duty service member must submit either a copy of the DD 214 or
a statement from the commanding officer verifying date of in country service
either in Saudi Arabia or Kuwait between August 2, 1990 and a date to be set
by law or presidential proclamation. Medals on DD 214 proving in country
service: Southwest Asia Service (SWA, SWASM); Kuwait Liberation Medal (KLM).
If no medal(s) indicated on DD 214, the DD 214 must show the established in
country dates set by Congress. |

Title Requirements: |
Ohio Certificate of Title issued
in veteran's name, either singly or jointly, or veteran's name on the lease
agreement. |

Vehicle Information: |
These plates may be issued to
passenger vehicles, noncommercial trucks, recreational vehicles, house vehicles and
noncommercial trailers. |
|
Type of Plates: |
System assigned plate
number, initial reserve and personalized. |
|
Issuance Information: |
New issuances must
register by mail or at a local Deputy Registrar.
Requests for system
assigned, reserved, or personalized plates may be made at any
Deputy Registrar's office, or by
calling 1-800-589-8247, Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:30
pm (Eastern).
Renewal of plates can be done at any
Deputy Registrar's office, online
at
OPlates.com, by phone at
1-866-675-2837 or by mail.
All plates will be mailed
directly to the address on your registration card unless customer requests
otherwise. The deputy will issue your registration card, stickers and
provide you with a permit which will allow you to operate your vehicle while
your plates are being manufactured.
