ODPS Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles Types of Gratis License Plates

Gratis License Section

The responsibility of the Gratis Unit is to issue license plates to vehicles owned by recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor, Former Prisoners of War, Disabled Veterans and public agencies.

All issuances of the Gratis license plates are free of charge.

Over 100,000 license plates are issued to vehicles owned by governmental agencies

Over 6,000 license plates are issued to vehicles owned bt Former Prisoners of War and Disabled Veterans

Approximately 2,000 disability parking placards are issued to disabled veterans
