8,802,906 licensed drivers and identification card holders in the state of Ohio.

3,049,731 driver licenses were issued.

5,148,936 abstract driver record reports were processed.

191,921 six-point warning letters were generated.

31,625 12-point suspension letters were generated.

8,818 probationary suspension letters were generated.

629,763 administrative and court mandated driver license suspensions were processed by the BMV.

272,893 motorcycle endorsements issued, renewed or added to a driver license.

$35,323,861 was collected for driver license reinstatement fees by BMV reinstatement offices throughout the state, serving 421,073 customers.  $11,966,179 was collected for driver license reinstatement fees by mail.

1,792,712 calls were answered by the BMV telephone centers.

3,758,316 pieces of incoming mail were received by the BMV.

14,608,743 pieces of out going mail were processed by the BMV, including mail-in vehicle registration notices and vehicle registrations issued through the mail-in program.

Deputy Registrar services

166,371 new voters were registered by Ohio’s Deputy Registrars.

49.90% of Ohio drivers made the commitment to be organ/tissue donors.

13,939,251 transactions were processed by Deputy Registrars. This business resulted in $632,226,538 for the State of Ohio.

$1,440,185 was collected for Save Our Sight Fund.

$697,363 was collected for the Second Chance Trust Fund.

CHARITIES

$322,463 was raised by the Department of Public Safety for the Combined Charitable Campaign.

$38,611 contributed and 54,614 pounds of food collected; totaling 131,836 meals for Operation Feed.

$10,754 contributed and 11,703 pounds of food collected; totaling 33,211 meals for the Holiday Food Baskets.

$9,001 was received in recycling reimbursement from the recycling of 467,572 pounds of material from obsolete records, pamphlets, telephone books, green-bar paper, miscellaneous paper products and cardboard.

The BMV made accurate and timely distribution of payments for license tax revenue, permissive tax revenue and out-of-state International Registration Plan (IRP) revenue in 2005.
