4507.08 (D) (S)
A driver
is processed through the PDPS (Problem Drivers Pointer System) formerly through the National Driver Registry
(NDR) or in the case of an application for a Commercial Driver License (CDL),
through Commercial Driver License Information System (CDLIS) if:
Driver
is requesting a "First" Ohio driver license and is over 18 years of age.
An Ohio
driver that is required to be re-tested due to suspension reinstatement requirements or
cancellation of license.
A
licensed driver from another state and applying for an Ohio license.
Cause
Applying for an Ohio driver license while under suspension in another state.
Length
of Suspension
Indefinite.
Reinstatement
Requirement
Driver must present a clearance letter from the Bureau or Department of
Motor Vehicles in the state(s) in which he/she is suspended or PDPS indicates an ELIGIBLE
status.

Additionally, a $30.00 reinstatement fee will be
required (if the suspension notice was mailed on or after 10/01/97).
