Out of State Transfer with Existing Hazardous Material Endorsement

No Security Threat Assessment Completed:

A Security Threat Assessment must be completed within 90 days from the date of your Ohio driver’s license issuance. The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles must be in receipt of the Security Threat Assessment results from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) within this 90 day time frame or your hazardous material endorsement will be revoked.   If your hazardous material endorsement is revoked, you will be required to complete all required testing to obtain the endorsement.

After your hazardous endorsement is revoked you must immediately proceed to your local Deputy Registrar’s office and have the endorsement removed from your Ohio Commercial Drivers license.   If the hazardous endorsement is not removed, within 20 days of revocation, your Ohio driver’s license will be cancelled.

If your Ohio driver’s license is cancelled, in order to be eligible for a new driver’s license, you will be required to take all applicable tests, which includes operator and commercial testing.

An application must be completed prior to arriving at a TSA agency for fingerprint collection.  To complete your application or obtain additional information about the process, please contact the TSA Call Center at 877-429-7746 or visit their web site at www.hazprints.com.
