Six Point Warning Letter

Ohio Revised Code Section 4510.037 (A)

Cause: More than 5 chargeable points on a driving record.

Result: A warning letter listing the violations along with the number of points is mailed to the driver's last known address, outlining the 12 point suspension provisions.

Procedure

  1. If the points charged against the driver are two (2) but less than twelve (12), the driver may be applicable to complete a remedial driver course.  The remedial course can be completed once every three (3) years, a maximum of five credits can be granted within a lifetime.  The purpose of the course is to grant a two-point credit against the total amount of points charged within a two (2) year period.

    Note:

The remedial driver course does not delete or remove any points from the Ohio driving record.

  2. Course must be taken at an accredited remedial school (See County Lists).
